Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration launched worldwide on September 16, 2026, marking three decades of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The set combines new artwork, rare Pikachu cards, and a Classic Collection built around memorable cards from the game’s history.
What Pokémon has officially confirmed
The Pokémon Company says the expansion released simultaneously worldwide and includes more than 150 cards. Its themes include Pokémon shown across day-and-night scenes, special Pikachu cards, and a Classic Collection that revisits notable cards from the last 30 years.
The cards are being distributed through multiple product types rather than one single box. That matters for collectors: check the contents of each product before buying instead of assuming every package has the same promos, packs, or accessories.
A sensible first-week collector checklist
- Choose a goal before opening packs. A complete set, a Pikachu subset, and a few favorite illustrations require very different budgets.
- Track exact card versions. Record the card name, collector number, rarity, language, and finish so similarly named cards do not get mixed together.
- Compare recent sales, not asking prices. Launch-week listings can be volatile. Use several completed sales and check condition before treating a number as a useful benchmark.
- Protect cards immediately. Sleeve cards before moving them into a binder or rigid holder, especially textured or high-rarity cards.
- Update your collection as you go. Logging duplicates early makes later trading and set completion much easier.
What to watch next
Release-day supply is only a snapshot. More products and retailer-specific promotions may appear on different schedules, so temporary scarcity does not necessarily mean an item will stay difficult to find. Compare the cost per pack, included promos, and accessories—not just the box price.
Pokémon also recommends connecting with a local Pokémon League for trading and play. If you trade, agree on the exact card and condition before exchanging anything, and use current market data as context rather than a guarantee.
